My Lifestyle Changes

In the last few years I’ve done the following changes to my lifestyle:

  • I dropped all animal products from my diet and never looked back. I’m 40 now and I am much stronger, faster and have more endurance than I did during my twenties.
  • I gave up alcohol and caffeine and I now feel much more relaxed and woke than ever before. Go figure.
  • I eliminated most processed foods from my diet, including sweets.
  • I started running on a regular basis after reading Born To Run by Christopher McDougall. I also switched to minimalistic running shoes as recommended in the book and it truly changed my running. I no longer have knee or back pains after my runs and I can run much longer than ever before.
  • I spend much more time outside now. At first, I started to do a lot of walking but now that I fell in love with running, I can’t really walk for too long because my body wants to run after a minute of walking. Bottom line — I love being outside, getting sun and high quality outdoor air, and giving my brain a break.
  • I stopped using all fancy hygiene products like shampoos, shower gels, moisturizers, lotions, etc. I only use soap (Good soap from Whole Foods). This helps me avoid all these chemicals that go into all these things (even the most organic and natural). I wash my hair with soap too and honestly it looks much better than after any shampoo I’ve ever used.
  • I switched from electric tooth brush back to a regular one. I like having more control over how I brush my teeth and I kinda got tired of having this vibration in my skull bones.
  • I now sleep at least 8 hours a day. My sleep also improved due to the fact that I no longer have alcohol and caffeine in my system. This is very important for the quality of our deep sleep which is super critical for our health.
  • Instead of lifting weights all day at the gym, I now do calisthenics and battle rope instead. My body is responding to it with a lot more joy and the results are very inspiring. Training the body core is so much more fun than lifting forme personally. It makes the body super strong and extremely versatile. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to lifting weights.

I will be updating this page as other things come to mind, but for now, feel free to ask me anything.
